This tool identifies discrete parts even if they are touching or partially overlapping. This allows the user to report statistics on global information such as part count, min/max height, width, and length. And, with an SDK application or GDK tool, engineers can apply 3D surface measurements on individual parts.

Now users can transform multiple 3D point clouds into “meshed” surface data for use in high-precision shape measurement and inspection. Mesh data consists of interconnected data points that form a continuous, 360º surface representing the object’s complete geometry that leverages high accuracy 6DoF alignment for wide and ring type multi-sensor layouts. Users can then apply any of Gocator’s built-in Surface tools to perform advanced measurements on the meshed surface (e.g., measuring features on the sides of objects).

The industry-first Surface Pattern Matching tool allows users to implement contour-based part matching to locate parts and features from 2D or 3D data regardless of scale, orientation, partial occlusion, distortion, contrast or height reversal, and overlapping patterns. Surface Pattern Matching allows the user to find one or more patterns simultaneously in a single scan cycle, which is especially useful when scanning complex parts or surface features that have multiple patterns of interest.

In addition to Gocator® snapshot sensors, engineers can now integrate Gocator® 3D laser line profilers into their UR co-bot applications.

Easy UR integration allows engineers to implement a complete vision-guided robotic solution––with minimal cost and development time––in applications such as inspection of elongated targets (e.g., cables), or applications that require larger fields of view not covered by G3 sensors (e.g., large bin picking).

Using the new GoHMI SDK, programmers can now develop their own Gocator®-to-factory human machine interface (HMI) using Visual Studio for a richer, more interactive operator user experience. The GoHMI SDK tool consists of a collection of libraries that allow you to build an application with different Gocator data display options including 2D or 3D scan data, tables and charts for stats and measurements, Interactive buttons (Start, Stop, etc.), value editor, sensor and job drop-downs, and exposure control.

This standalone application allows you to run a “virtual” sensor using pre-recorded data without the need for a physical sensor. Emulator supports SDK developers to create their applications using a virtual Gocator before real hardware is needed.
