With no external PC or software required, Gocator 2340 images and reports X, Y, Z Height and Clock rotation of each part and sends it to the UR5 via ASCII over EtherNET. The UR5 then picks each part in scanned order and places them into the appropriate location by stack height, 1-2-3-4. Amazing 3D tech! Dual sensor (or Buddy) systems are used to increase 3D scan coverage. In this video, a reverse buddy system is demonstrated, in which two Gocator line profile sensors are mounted next to one another in opposite orientations. The benefit is less occlusion, in cavities for example. This video also explains how to align and calibrate the two sensors in the Gocator User Interface within the same coordinate space.
