What is 3D?

3D technology captures the shape of an object as opposed to 2D which only captures contrast. With 3D shape, you can measure geometric features on a surface regardless of surface color. Click on the 3D view to the right and use your mouse to manipulate a 3D scan of a real engine cover created using our HDI 3D scanners.
