Gocator Firmware

Surface Barcode and OCR

Submitted by Sukhdeep Grewal on Wed, 03/11/2020 - 10:35

The new Surface OCR tool allows you to recognize and extract a string of text from surfaces, using either 3D height map scan data (for embossed characters) or 2D intensity scan data (for flat characters). The Surface Barcode tool allows you to read data encoded in 1D (linear) and 2D barcodes from surface data, without the need for 2D vision cameras or specialized barcode readers.

Surface Mask Tool

See the new Surface Mask Tool in action, introduced in Gocator Firmware 5.3. The Surface Mask Tool gives users the ability to create a new surface by extracting specific surface data from a desired region (and excluding data from surrounding regions). See how this added capability is utilized in this connector flange flatness measurement example.

Part Edge Filtering: New Feature to Gocator 4.0 Firmware

Part Edge Filtering is a new feature to Gocator 4.0 Firmware. Gocator 4.0 Firmware has a built-in capability to remove noise around the perimeter and interior of scanned surfaces or parts. Noise filtering increases repeatability and accuracy of 3D measurements by allowing the measurement regions to be placed with precision without any noise interference.

Reverse Buddy System

Dual sensor (or Buddy) systems are used to increase 3D scan coverage. In this video, a reverse buddy system is demonstrated, in which two Gocator line profile sensors are mounted next to one another in opposite orientations.
